I got quotes from three shops in town and they are all about the same. I already stripped the axles down and removed them from the truck. All that is left is just the carrier.

    14B 4.88 gears install $200.00
    D60F 4.88 gears and ARB install $300.00

Is this normal or too high since they don't have to tear the hubs off?

Those prices sound about right from what I have seen.

WAIT, your tellin me that if i jus take off the axles and strip it down and everything, they'll only charge that, cuz they told me $500 apiece, then again i never thought of doin the easy stuff myself, and what all do u have to strip before you take it to em? does that include everything, or only labor? thanks..

That would be Labor only. A set of new gear's as around $200.00 alone. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Then there are bearing's, Seal's, shim's, etc. Presuming Your's are bad.
