    how much lift for 35\'s???

i have 2.5" leafs up front, 2.5" blocks out back, and 33x12.50 BFG A/T's on 15x10 steeles. problem is: i have 4.56 gears. not so great on the highway. i'd like to go up to 35's. i eventually want to do a true 6" suspension lift, but can't afford it right now.

what if i were to put a set of 1" ORD zero rates up front, and replace my 2.5" block with a 4" block out back. (saggy springs need an extra .5") could i run 35x12.50-15 BFG M/T on a 15x10 wheel??? i don't want to tear into the sheetmetal quite yet. i'll do MINOR trimming if need be.

would my D-shafts be ok??? and what about my shocks?

p.s. - there are pics in my sig line...... and contrary to my user name, i have a 1991.

    thanks-
    chris

u can usualy run 35's ok with 4" of lift. you MIGHT need to do trimming for full flex situations and you might not they all seem to be a little different. u just have to see and try it for yourself.

You can lift more or hack what you've got. If you think going to taller tires when you get this big will give you mileage when you're this tall, you may be surprised.

I would get a stiff add a leaf to install all the way around or do a shackle flip out back and buy some springs.

If it was me I wouldn't waste money trying to get another inch or 2 when you say you want to eventually get a 6 incher. Although a 2 or 3" body lift would help and would look better than just 6" and 35's. I run 35" boggers with a 6" procomp and a performance accesories 3" body, plenty of clearence and looks good in my opinion. Oh yeah and your mileage is just going to go down with a bigger lift/tire. Even though your rpm's will be lower on the freeway it still will take more HP to move a bigger truck. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I haven't read all the other post; but, from experiance 4" will get you by, 6" = no worries.... When I had 4" and 35s it would rub on full compression on the right forward fender, aft edge.... Not a real; problem though, but i would recomend 6"....

My 77K5 has a 4" suspension and a 3" body lift. It looks pretty good to me. Tires aren't too out of the wheel wells, but they don't fill them either. There are some pics in my sig.

Re: how much lift for 35\'s???

I wish I could do my K10 all over again...I'd have started with a 6" lift and left it that way with 35s. Since it's become only a trail rig now really it doesn't matter to me, but my future road truck will be 6" lift and 35s.
