how much would my compression change by going from 76cc heads to 67?

    just checking out the s/r torquer heads on summit's page- dreaming about bolting on 30 hp.

    It's not the HP that you will significantly gain by going down to 67cc heads, but the low end torque you get from them. I run a set of 67cc heads and love the extra torque I got from them.

    depending on the pistons and the thickness of the head gasket you could pick up almost 1point in comp.

    The Vortec heads are mo' better.... I've had both - and I believe the Vortec headed motor performs better - even with a smaller cam!

    If your 350 had 9.0 CR with 76's, it will have 9.9 with 67's.

    The increase in compression all depends on the cubic inch size of the motor. I agree with Marv, the Vortec heads perform better and they are less expensive. Plus they are 64cc chambered insted of 67cc which will boost compression a little more. I am running the Vortec's and I love them. You can't beat them for the $. IMO

    '85 K5 : Run it til it breaks, then fix it and go again!

    it should go up by about 1-1.2 pts depending on the gasket thickness you use
