Lee spent $70 on a clothes, then he sold them for $12 more than the original price to someone. Later, he discover that the $100 he got from the buyer is counterfeit, it makes him very sad.
Now, can you please help Lee to figure out how much money he lost on this clothes?

    $88 bux by my thoughts...

70 bux for the clothes, then he made 18 bux change for the person when he sold the clothes for 82... (70 + 12 = 82 - 100 = 18 bux in change)

Lee spent $70.00 on clothes, then sold them for $82.00 so he made $12.00 profit but he had to give $18.00 change for the counterfeit $100.00 so now there is no profit and he is out $70.00 initially + $18.00 for the change he gave + $100.00 for the counterfeit so he is out = $188.00

Ok, after thinking it out again during the day he is out $88.00. Now thats my final answer. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    ($70) for the clothes
Sold for $82, so he gave $18 change.
    ($18)
    And, the $100 was fake
    ($100)

    I come up with $188.00

This was never a math problem. It was a psychology puzzle. The question is used to stimulate thought. The more you think about it, the more answers you can come up with. That is evident with the people above having second thoughts, or even changing their answers. There is no right answer. It is all how you think about it. I thought it was interesting. Another site where I saw it had the same thing as what is going on here. A whole bunch off different answers. On that site, some people were even getting mad because they thought their answer was correct, and others were stupid for coming up with other answers.

I almost changed my answer to 88 until I realized there was no correct answer, I even did it with real money using change and thought I came up with 88 then right before posting I realized that was not right either... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Well. Lee is very sad because he tried to pass the phoney money in the strip bar. Got caught, beat up, and bounced into the arms of a wating cop and now is doing some hard time.
His cell mates name is Bubba.
