I found a house I would like to buy but it was taken off the market for some reason and so I thought if I could find the owners name and phone number I could call him and see if he would still sell it. Any Ideas?
I tryed running multipul searches for public records etc. without sucess.
I figure that since the place wasn't shown to me by a realtor that he shouldn't need to pay a commison on the sale, hense a lower price for me. Is this correct? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

The address is 1169 Palmers Drive, Silverthorne CO. 80498
I belive the owners name is James Crowley

County assessor's office. It is a public record. You should be able to walk into the ofice with the addrress and walk out with the name. The phone number you could get from the realtor who listed the property originally.

You should be able to find out through either the town or county's web site, but not always.
Many municipality's have a GIS system you can find on their website. In my area, the town has it, where I was looking at property in Pennsylvania recently, the county has it.

With the GIS system, you can usually locate a property by address, tax number, or owner last name. Typically, if you can just find one of these in an area, you can zoom out on the map, and then re-focus the map to the area you want. Once refocused, the properties all show up as defined by property lines. You can then find information on each property such as the owner name and address (if different than the property in question's address).

When I was looking up properties in PA, I'd get the info on the neighbors from the GIS system, and call them to see what they thought of the property, if it was an eyesore, under water, etc. That almost turned out very helpful, as one property turned out to be pretty valuable, I just twiddled my thumbs too long about buying it at the low price...

Yeah, I tried that and I did find the owners last name but couldn't find much else. I would call the realtor but I didn't want to raise any flags.
Maybe I'll try to town website and see if it does any good.
If I don't have any luck, I will go to the assessors office on Monday.

Thanks for the imfo. guys but as for knocking on the door or leaving a note,
no one lives there so it would be kinda pointless and I don't want the realtors to get my number and call me. I did find some more imfo. and I'm working on it.
