    That's all you need!
    Black = chasie ground (metal)
    Red = Hot + side of fuse box
    then srew the antena cable in the back and plug in your mic and talk away

    On the red wire, I have always (and will always) ran that straight to the battery with an inline fuse. There are a lot of little power surges from the system that you never see but will make short work of a CB. Mount the antane somewhere were you'll have a good ground plane. As soon as everything is hooked up, resist the temptation to start yacking and go to a cb shop and have them set the SWR. If they are set wrong, then you're radio won't talk worth a dang and you might tear something up.

    BTW, midland makes a DANG good radio. I've never had a problem with any that I've run. I've still got two sitting in the garage. Probabbly gonna use one of them when I make my President a base unit.

    Yes, but make sure you have an in-line fuse so incase of a short you won't smoke your CB.

    2 amp fuses. BUT if you do not want to wire your cb into the fuse box, but a DC adapter [ciggerette lighter thing] and cutt off the end and then wire the 2 together.
    i have found with a k5 Blazer that a whip antenna on the bumper is 100 times better then a magnetic mount. what do people think.
    also if u need advise on installing a P.A. email me @

    I agree that a whip on the bumper is better than a mag mount, depending on what your doing. I run a 5' Mag mount Wilson 1000 on the top of mine and very rarely hit anything, but if I do and I am going fast enough, off it comes. I use my CB daily and like the way it works with the Wilson.

    That's right, I stole somebody elses pic.

    With the top off, I can reach up and take the ant. off it's base with out ever leaving the seat of my truck, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. It all depends on what you're doing with it I guess, I get a better ground plane by having mine off the steel roof of the cab rather than off a fiberglass or no top.

    I'm just hesitant about lopping a whole in the roof of my truck. The CB shop where I got mine offered it, but at the time I just didn't want to mess with it. I've only knocked mine off twice in 3 years so I feel pretty good about it. That wilson is a tough ant.

    well it u run a bumper mount, run the wires under the car up to the front where there is a hole in the firewall for wires and run it through there. OR runn it through the tailgait and run the wire through the truck.
    i have a 10 ft whip antenna on my bumper. i like it but 10 ft is like overkill 8 would have been better
