Get a TH350 version 205 from a 1980 1/2 or 3/4 ton ONLY!!! These were of the round pattern, 27 spline and will bolt to your 700...although why anyone would mate a bulletproof transfer case to a marginal transmission is beyond me, but to each his own! More power to ya!!

My 205 came from a 72 blazer with a TH350. I got a short shaft from advance adapters, dropped the tranny to have the shaft put in, and it bolted right up. My 700R4 is an 87 model and has a square 4-bolt pattern where the t-case adapter bolts up. It matches the factory adapter that came from the 205, also the same pattern found on TH350's. Make sure you get the adapter with the t-case. The 27 splined adapters and sleeves are getting hard to find. Also, do a search for past posts, you might find more info.

If you are on a budget get a 205 and adapter for a 350. Cut 1/2 inch off of the tailshaft of the transmission and buy a 1 1/2" spacer used to mate a turbo 350 in place of a 700r4 an put it in front of the adapter. It will bolt up perfectly. I ran this setup for 4 years with no problems. I purchased the adapter for about $50.00.
