I am going to look at a 79 Blazer tonight that is being sold locally. I want it mainly for the 4.10 posi front and rear diffs. How do I know for sure they are 4.10's. Is it possible with out taking the covers off?? It is driveable and has 35's with a 4spd manual.

    Thanks
    Mike

4.10 was not a OE ratio offered so the only way to know is to physically verify. If you don't want to pull the covers you could do the tire vs driveshaft revolution check (mark tire and driveshaft position, turn tire 1 revolution and count turns of drive shaft).

My 77 with an auto, 3.73 gears, and 35's is "drivable," but not fun. Jack up the truck and spin the tire and count the driveshaft revolutions. 1 tire revolution = just over 4 DS revolutions. Thats your best bet without pulling the cover.
