    I have an 89 K5 silverado w/tow package. There has to be a code on the blazer somewhere that tells what gear ratio I'm running. Ya'll have any idea where this would be??? And what the codes mean.

    On my '73 there was an options sticker that listed the ratio numerically after the option code. That may be different for your newer K5. Use the 'Search' button on this site for axle ratios. There will be plenty of info on how to figure it yourself.
    The options sticker was on my inner fender will in my '73, in my glovebox on my '77 truck, and I think they stuck them elsewheres.

    Mud is just thick water, or is it that water is just thin mud?

    Look at the RPO codes on the sticker in the glove box.

    GU2 = 2.73
    GU4 = 3.08
    GU6 = 3.42
    GT4 = 3.73
    GT5 or GT8 = 4.10
    G80 = Gov-lock
