    Hey Guys,

In my fantasy land where my paycheck is big enough to actually meet all of my bills, I pretend that I go to the tire store and get some new rubber for my K5.

In this dream, I've got one question: How wide can I go on my stock Chev rims? I've got the stock-size 31x10.50x15 tires on, and am wondering could I go up to the 33x12.50's without buying new wheels? Because then we're talking a REAL fantasy. Whooooh lordy!

    thanks.

You will be fine with a 12.50 tire on a stock wheel... Stock wheels are usually 7" and some are 8".. A friend of mineran some 14.50 on 7" rims for about a year with no problems...

I have a set of 35x12.5" General Grabbers on a 6.75" wide rim. 35,000 miles on them and lots of tread left. They didn't wear funny either. 1 tire is done but thats because of a bad ball joint.

I ran 33x12.50x15 BFG AT's on the factory aluminum wheels on an '87 K5 for several years with no problems. Go for it! [IMG]
