Our newest So Cal Big Dawg Member, John Wilkins tests the flex on his first gen K5 while his son Jason (pictured below) does the same in his 2nd gen. Photos by Preston Panza.

Congratulations "Dad".... you got a pretty tuff truck there! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Wheeled w/ the previous owner (smp) many-a-time... and as I recall, it's got more flex to go than what is shown here...!

Enjoy it! It's a good truck...

So far he's really happy with it. He's doing some mods on it. Regear, comfort stuff, adding a doubler and possibly new rear springs. Can you believe he only paid $5K for it? And what a way for father and son to bond! I'm also glad I've got some "Old Guy" company on the trail now... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Plan on seeing a lot more of both of them on the trails. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

That was a fun trail, I want to do it again with my ARB working.

So far my dad loves his new truck. At least now he understands why I spend so much time and money on my truck.

So far we've put 5.13's in it, ARB front, detroit rear and a new carb, fuel pump. We are getting ready to get a doubler and redo some of the cage and add TBI. Can't wait to get it out on the hammers. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

As Marv stated, we wheeled quite a bit with the previous owner of the blazer SMP. It was a great rig on the trails.

Congradulation on the 1st gen, and being involved with CK5.

On a second note, I would not change the rear spring, hell that's what made his blazer flex so much. That thing had as much flex as our Springer systems.

    Congradulations and welcome aboard...

I liked that thing from the first time I saw it.

63s moved inboard - If I remember correctly.

If you mean what's this post doing in the off topic forum, I don't know. Seemed like a good place to me. If you are wondering who John and Jason are, they are two of our newer members in So Cal Big Dawgs. They are here in CA. Jason has been here on CK5 for quite some time now. His dad John isn't much of a chatter me thinks.

I'm on the board, but my dad doesn't like the computer at home so he doesnt go on the internet. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif So yeah I usually communicate for him on the internet.

Rob, I think the only springs we would change the rear for is a set of deaver's to get rid of the factory lift block and gain a little more free arc to get even more flex. I dont thin Larry realizes the potential of the 63's compaired to the 57's though. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
