    hewlitt packard C5110A scan jet

there is a long skinny cable port with 50 real small diameter pins

and there is another port that is round and with pins too alot like a mouse or keyboard plug port but not the same pin layout though,

i have the cable for the long skinny 50 pin port but no such port exists on my ATX tower,

does it take a special cord with that design of port for these scanners in order to plug them in ?

    thanks for anything

The 5p scanner has a SCSI interface. You will need to have a SCSI interface card installed in your computer. Not really a big deal ... unless you don't have a SCSI card. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I bet your connector looks like this:

The only other possibility would be one of these:

You can usually find SCSI controllers at your local PC store for under $50 for a cheap one. You don't need anything fancy for a scanner.

I have a few lying around if you want one.

$10. shipped to your door. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
