Ok on a 10bolt front you cant that washer between the 2 spindle nuts that have a little tit on it and goes into the spindle nut, On a 14bolt FF do any of the washers have a tit on them like on a 10bolt front? because mine dont but it could have been broken off before, and im having the hardest time keeping my hub tight i know its got nothing to do with the bearings or races(atleast I think) becuase I CAN over tighten it but when I take it appart its always loose(ive been taken it apart every to days becuase of this) I know when it breaks loose because I get a BAD wobble/vibration from that wheel and if it wsent for having disk my hubs and wheel would fall off and yes it is burning up my calliper, rotor

It seems that the PERIOD key on your keyboard is broken... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

But I think I know what you're asking. Both of my 14 bolt FF's have a nut keeper that installs between the 2 bearing nuts. There are tangs on the outer edge of the keeper that get bent over and "stuck" into one or more of the notches around the edge of the outer nut. If yours is missing those, then you need to visit your friendly GM dealers parts counter. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

harry is correct! the 14ff's use 2 spindle nuts with a thin washer between them that has about 6 tangs on it.it also has an inner tang that fits in the slot on the spindle. the faces of the nuts have 6 or 8 slots cut into them (the same slots you use the spindle nut socket on!) when you get the proper torque you bend the tang or tangs inwardinto the slots on the face of the outer nut to lock the outer spindle nut in place.dana44 fronts use the same washer with holes and "tit" you described i have not seen that set-up on rearends i bought new spindle nuts and lock tab washers at napa at $35 bucks a side they were pretty proud of them but it's done right the first time lol /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

cant recall ever seeing that for rear axles, not for 14 ff and 60 anyways,

or any SF axles either, 14, all of the 10's, car and truck 12's

    goodluck
