I liked it! [IMG] [IMG] My fav cars are the yellow Skyline GTR and any RX7!

I was a little bummed they didn't use and show the GTR a little more. That thing would have cleaned house if built right! And if you didn't ntice, the GTR is only sold overseas! They just recently9within the last few years) have been available through import for sale in the US by a company in CA.. They are Right-hand drive because of the twin Turbo configuration. They looked into converting them to left hand drive like US cars, but the steering shaft got in the way of the turbos... A used 95/96 goes for around $60K!!! AWD with 276HP stock and capable of 700+HP with just bolt-ons! You can also adjust th AWD for more power to the front or the rear!! SWEEETT!!!!!!\
Check them out at www.skylinegtr.com The one in the movie was an R33 which is my fav, but the newer R34's are nice too. I dont care much for the older R32's....

LOL... You know that GTR is owned by Motorex(owners of the website i posted earlier).. The car was originally white and Universal added the yellow paint and the graphics for the movie... That car held the 1999 Showroom
stock record at Pikes Peak!

Thanks for the heads up, I was fixin to rent it tonight, they just don't make good old entertainment anymore! You know gratuitus violence, gunfights, car chases, and of course a good looking woman or two added for good measure! Now all we get is Titanic, and Pearl Harbor! I liked the old movies the "classics" better.

I went and saw it for what it was... a Comedy. I walked into the theater with super low expectations, walked out marginaly impressed at some of it, and extremely pissed at only seeing the charger for approximately 32 seconds. there were of course plenty of shittastic parts to it, but it was an OK movie, compared to some of the crap that's been billowing out. I jsut wish they'd stop putting Love stories into those stupid things...

That whole love thing between those two characters didn't fit.
I thought some of the extras were better actors than some of the starring actors

Too much talk about Nos, "I need some more nos" . They could have made it somewhat believable, you mean to tell me with all those imports around, not even one idiot in a mustang (i just really have issues with fords) or some one in a firebird or camero even tries to show up. I almost cried when that charger bit it.

I got about 10 minutes into the movie and turned it off laughing. Who writes this crap or & who puts up the money to make it into a movie?

I also gotta agree with Mike. Imports get a bad rap, alot like lifted 4x4's do. Not everyone is a prick or totally stupid and puts a big wing on their car (or throws beer cans all over the trail) It all depends who you associate with. A large amount of the racers here are wannabes. I imagine most places are like this except for Cali where there are a few FAST imports rather then moded to LOOK fast. A buddy of mine has finally taken his eclipse similar to the one in the movie (except it is AWD [IMG] ) into the 11's and I can tell you it is a hellva ride. Plus it actually gets decent fuel economy. Overall I'd love to get one like that. I had an older 91 Eagle Talon TSI that had some simple mods done and it was a blast to drive. Also it handed a friend's 95 Mustang GT (5.0L) it's @rse. Man he was pisted. Back in the late 70's and eighties lots of guys put down the post 73 cars... then later on it was the thumbs down to Mustang 5.0's... now on to rice. Look at the entire history of the street scene and kids have always hot rodded what they could find and what they could afford. Obviously 69 Camaro's and mid eighties Monte SS's are getting much tougher to find, none the less harder for the average student/teen to afford. In reality the hot rodding cycle is just continuing and kids are doing the same thing that rodders of generations ago did. Make what they had faster and race it to the max. Whether it is a 32 Ford, 68 Chevelle, 87 Mustang, or a 97 Honda Vtec.

But overall the racing and street scenes were pretty cool. The love story/undercover cop aspects were pretty lame IMO. I'm still the biggest sucker for those muscle cars, but a few of those imports were pretty sweet... The RX7, Eclipse, and Supra were the personal fav's.
