My buddy noticed (before the fire) that when he turned on the K5's driveshaft it felt liek it was in four wheel. He said umm why is it in 4wheel? I looked at him funny cause its not. Seems like the hubs don't disengage. I never bothered to look at it but I think its been like that since I got it. I believe this may explain my abismal 5-7mpg since I got it with 2.73s.

are they automatic or manual hubs? if they're automatic, pull them off and go buy some manual ones of your choice, but preferrably Warn. if they are manual hubs, either take some of the grease out of the outer body, or inspect the mechanism that retracts the slip shaft.

autos and when you play witht he shaft they randomly disengage. I am puting a D44 under it so that will get manual hubs.
