well this morn i headed over to our shop to work on my rig and i finaly decided to install the ORD front shackles that i have had for well over a year and just never got around to puttin em on...well after i got em on ..i got to thinkin...gee dosent look like it made much of a difference...so i take one of my old shackles and hold it up and compare the locataion of the bolt holes...and they are in the same exact spot as stock...now i was under the impression that they are spose to be longer than stock?...but maybe i am wrong...but i am just wondering why i bothered to buy em if they did nothin performance wise...sure the cool factor is there...but..hum...i dont know /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Somewhere in the 80's Gm got smart and went longer but the ORD's should still be thicker/stronger.

just shackles or did you at least get new bushings out of the deal?
least then you could convince yourself you did something

I made some ugly shackles for less then $5cdn and a few minutes on the drill press and bandsaw

thinking next time I will use stainless for the 'cool' factor
it is just 2" wide flatbar with a couple of holes

Hey Chaz Scott (4X4HIGH) had the same thing happen to him. His stock ones are the same length as the ORD ones. His K5 is a 90 (I think) /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
