Lots of them; IMHO the most accurate replica is

    http://www.urbgorilla.com

There's also the "Bummer" ... anyway, a brief Google search should come up with others.

WOW /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif, that hummer on gm frame thing is really expensive, starting at $13,000!! The urban gorrilla body is only starting at $4,000.

Does anybody know someone who has put one of these bodys on, and what they think of it? /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

I heard that running surplus hummers are illegal, and if the gov finds out you got one, they go repo it from you. Even if you got pieces from several of them and built one, I think it's illegal. I don't know why...that would be the ultimate thing to do!

    Surplus HMMWV\'s

are legal, once you get them. Most of the ones running around came from a batch which the Marines *traded* to a contractor for helicopters or somesuch, and therefore went around the usual DOD out-take process, in which the vehicles are crushed. These are the usual 1986-7 vintage ones, IIRC.

There are occasional others which escape somehow, usually early 90's ones.

Anyway, you can buy them; bare units sell for $15-20K untested; working units complete with tops and seats sell for $20-30K, and nice hardtops with low miles can command upwards of $50K.

http://www.militaryhumvee.com and http://www.real4wd.com are among the places that sell them. (The latter is pricey for whatever reason.)
