humming noise

    i've got a humming noise that i think comes from the front end........not sure what it is thought.....it kind of sounds like a bunch of crickets........what could be wrong

    Three ideas off the top of my head - power steering, u-joint, or water pump.

    In that case, check all of your u-joints, brakes and wheel bearings.

    It could be the wear indicators on the front brake pads. They can chirp like crazy when its time for new pads.

    if its while moving from the front end its probably your wheel bearings...just repacked mine this week...try jacking up one side grab the tire and try to move it in and out....shouldnt move much...if you have big tires take them off then grab the rotor and try to move it in and out...if it moves accessively repack asap.....be sure to check both sides

    just fixed it....it was the complemens of a cracked lift block....my axle was side ways and the ujoints were smacking together

    lift block on the front!!!!!!! Did I read that right? As far as I know they are illegal in every state in the us. they are very unsafe cuz they can't handle the weight of the front end and that is why it broke!!!!!!

    ok. you only said in the original post the front. then you said the lift block. you didn't specify
