They should call it fock you ass hole day instead.:haha: :D

So im under there, me and all my gear and electrical cords, crammed into around 12 inches of crawl space, on my back soldering copper in my neverending solitude, real pacefull down there..........under the house,,,,,,actually once you get used to it its nice, no wimmins bichin, nothing :D just the sound of the tank going,,,,,in the damp darkness,,,

So i have half my laterals plumbed in, strapped up, and all my gear set up nice and sweet with my solder and copper tray right where i need it,,,,

    all comphy,,

I get out the porter cable sawzall, and i start cutting what i thought was the cold water line , getting ready to tie in from that point,,,,and runa new isolation valve and Brass fitting to seperate the metals from electrolisis,,,,

    Im cutting,,,,,,,,

    the water off,,,,,

i dont see any water comming out at all of the cut pipe,,,,,all i hear is shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITS GAS! FOCK! :eek1: I hit the gas line, NEVER did that before. It was galvanized, just like old water lines were in the 50s.

High tailed out and shut off meter, gas is leaking everywhere underthere, shut off the meter and,,,,,

Spent the rest of my day fixing it, DAM!

Does anyone else have a story to tell?

A real plumber would have just soldered it back up and not been such a puss about it!

Wow dood, that is scary as hell. Did you let the gas vent out after you shut it off. I don't think I would have ever gone back under there...

I had a similar day yesterday. I got my 14bff in a few weeks ago, and my fronts were still six lug. I pulled the rotors and what nots off a '77 K20, and yesterday went out to put the stuff on. Driver side went fine, no problem. On the passenget side, well, it went a little different. The second spindle nut somehow got stripped coming out. It was hopelessly stuck. I didn't have the time or the patience to deal with it. My first thought, :grind:.

It's all better now. Thank goodness I had an extra spindle.

    Yeah! EXtra SPINDLE! :rotfl:

Sometimes feel invinsable with what im doing man,my skills,, like nobody can touch it. Like i am the best of the best and thats it.

But, theres always that one thing that reminds you , brings you back down to earth and reminds you, things can go spinning out of control in an instant. That you arent the chit, not at all.

Im glad that happened, i dont know why, it just seems when things are going tooo good, something really lame happens right after to spoil it.

So you need the negative stuff to equal it out if that makes any "CENTS"
,,as Corey would call it. :rotfl:

Loads of fun sounds like. My job is all about "fightin' fires". Corporate BS and all. I work for a woman that has bigger balls than any man I've ever met ('cept the wifey:doah: ), so every day is a freakin' adventure. I kinda wish the only thing I had to worry about was cutting into a live gas line. You plumbers sure are a bunch of whiney bastages, ain't ya?

    The Yin and the Yang.

Or as I call it, the "Hey! Check this $hit out!" and the "Dang! That freakin hurt!".

I think all bad things help to make us better by being cautious, because there won't always be that extra spindle. :D

Well, she's got a mullet that would make Billy Ray Cyrus proud (the boss, not the wife), so lookin' at her is hard enough. Really a good boss, but has a habit of bustin' my balls, and not LIKE THAT! You guys that just have to deal with yourselves, and not every idiot in the joint got it made. I used to have a job like that, but then dumb ass me said "Yeah, I'll be a stupervisor!" Eh, it pays the bills.

I remember what an old plumber guy i knew used to say,,,,,

"Just bang around under there for an hour or 2, make some loud noises under the house , theyl never know the difference,,,"

He got run out of town fast too.:waytogo: Its a funny concept though.:haha: :D

I have to admit being in the quiet solitude and getting paid for it is awesome,,,no boss, tools and stuff,,, just by yourself with cofee and tunes, whatever, those jobs rock. I love being alone, it rules. Very soothing IMO.

Especially when your the owner of the company, like i own this one.......
