That is a pretty awesome story, and it added another reason I wan't to move West.

Pretty exciting and cool all in one!

That reminds me of the story of the guide who's dogs were killed by the wolves.
Someone here must have that link saved. I'm not looking for it. Pretty good reading though.

Move west and keep a large bore pistol with you and all is well.

Well I do usually carry a large bore pistol when I'm out, but luckily I haven't encountered one of those cats yet:eek1:

Cool. You can you hunt those in Arizona? When i lived in Cali. they made it illegal to hunt them and they did quite a number on the deer populations. They used to show up in the suburbs because there were too many of em. Then again i've been on the east coast for 6 years. Could be different now.

Nope, they're still wreaking a but of havoc by encroaching into the 'burbs. Folks are attacked from time to time on Mount Tamalpias, and they even shot one out of a tree in Palo Alto. The hippies had a field day with that one.

I have went on a few lion hunts back in N. CA with my uncle who is a federal predator control agent. It can get pretty tense on a lion hunt. We were out on a hunt one night and we heard some heavy breathing. We turned around and there was this cat sitting on a big oak limb about 15' from us. Old bastard unloaded before I could even think about any sort of reaction. He hunts for a living and gets paid well by the federal government. Such a hard life.........

I'm not sure which would have reacted quicker - my ass or my trigger finger - but I can tell you they would both have reacted.
