Hurst shifter on a sm465?

    I know i don't have one but i heard guys whining about the long throws on the 465 and then saw an american muscle car episode and got to wondering if hurst makes a shifter for the 465...

    i dont think anyone makes a shifter for it...

    There'd be no point...the shifter "linkage" in a 465 is internal and doesn't use the rods/gate setup that "normal" manual trans use, nothing that you can modify with just a shifter handle itself, which is all you can pull with the trans still in the truck...I guess the 465 is accurately termed a "top loader" transmission, if you've seen a Ford trans with no external linkage.

    You could cut down the stick and get a longer arm. :D
