My new dog is a mix, but I'm not sure what he is a mix of. his pics are near the bottom of this post.

We had two dogs, but one of them was 11.5 years old and passed away a few weeks ago. The one dog left was real lonely, so I found her a friend.

First, here is Copper (the darker dog) R.I.P.

And here is the little guy I just brought home. He is some type of mix, but I'm not sure what. Anyone wanna guess? His tail usually curves around and stabs him in the back and he has a pink tounge.

And here are the two together

I see a lab and Doberman. I could be wrong thats just what I see. I was just in that same situation with one of mine passing and the other needing some company. I found 2 Timber wolf and Alaskan Malamute pups. Hope it works out.

yeah i definitely see a part of lab in there, the rest is up for grabs?? the tail's kind of odd for a lab though. i dunno, but my vote is for lab..

Thanks guys. I don't know much about a lot of things, and dogs is one of those things. My dad was concerned that there may be Pit Bull in him, I don't think so though.

    Ya, he's alright...

now, if I could get him to stop chasing the cat!

    :haha:

Definately part lab somewhere in the line. My guess was lab/german shephard but looking closer I do see a little bit of boxer in the face. Nice looking dog, looks to be mal-nourished.

I adopted a puppy a few (4) months ago from the pound, after Dontoe wouldn't let me have Jackson. Great little guy, was on the verge of death, 2 lbs. malnourished. Now just got him fixed and weighing in at 30+lbs and acts just like the kids.........

Oh, and don't worry if he is part pit. Every stupid pit bull that i've come across (or any bad dog for that matter) had an equally ignorant/mean owner. 99.99% of how a dog behaves is what you teach it.

I see lab and chow. The tail has chow written all over it.

That is one thing that threw me off too as mine is part chow. The ears and the tongue don't really say chow and neither does the snout. If there is chow, it is VERY little bit. Now Siberians also have the curved tail like that too. Not too sure if any other dog has a tail like that.

I thought lab and chow (because of tail). I thought chows had a distinctive mouth, like it was black inside - but don't quote me on that. He looks like he has a pit head and ears.

Don't worry about the dog if it does have pit bull in it. We had a pit bull that thought all kids belonged to him. Neighbors would send their kids down to play with the dog as the dog would not let any adult get close to the kids. Kids absolutely tourtured that dog and all he would do is get up and move. Like was said earlier, the only mean pit's I have seen were the ones that were mistreated.

I think at least half lab is an easy call, the rest I'd have to say a little pit is possible but I think with that tail you have either chow, akita or husky. All that being said, I wouldn't worry if he is a little pit, IMO mixed breeds are the best. You don't get the reinforced bad traits of a purebred and some good traits from both sides.

ANd since no one else said it: GET THAT DOG SNIPPED!!
