Yep, broke it right in half
I guess I should have had a tougher axle for rock crawling.

    Here's a couple pieces I found

And when I pulled it out

I don't know, maybe I was just to tough on it. Like the time I missed the brake and ended up down here :D
    [IMG]

I will testify to one thing though, Craftsman makes some tough tactors.
I've even used mine to cut a entire field of 2-3ft. sage brush down and it still keeps puttin along
Maybe I should have ordered a one ton axle for it.

    Need another one??

I have a couple of transaxles in my shed from old craftsman rider mowers..wonder if they would work in yours?..they only had about 60 different ones over the years!..but some interchange with a few mods..I think I have a two speed one and a couple 3 speed ones--been out there a long time...

Craftsman and Sears dont "make" any of their lawn tractors(or other equpment)..they buy it from MTD,Roper,AYP(American Yard Products) or the newer stuff by Troy-Built..but the Sears sold machines often have "special" things that the others dont have--like different flywheel keys on a craftsman mower VS the identical looking Tecumseh engine on another brand--or other PITA things you MUST get ONLY from Sears--when it says "A Sears Exclusive"--thats exactly what it means!.

..I have found the generators sold at Home Depot are DIFFERENT than the same brand sold elsewhere!--different crankshaft taper,etc--if it has "HD" at the end of the serial #--its not "Heavy Duty"--it means "Home Depot"!!--and its a lot harder to find those "special" parts, and of course more expensive too..People dont realize WHY its a hundred bucks cheaper at Home Depot until its repair time!--and you thought it was cheaper because they buy in large quantities and pass it on to the customer?? WRONG!--they HAD to skimp somewhere!..

But I will admit,I too have beaten some Sears tractors and snowblowers badly, and they held up pretty good, considering they are mostly die cast aluminum transaxles and engines nowadays..I've towed an old GMC truck chassis made into a trailer around with a 10hp craftsman rider!--Its pretty amazing how much they will pull, for what they are!..

My craftsman mower wont pull ****! I tried dragging an engine with it once and it just spun one wheel. I want to get an older more powerfull mower without a deck to fart around with.

I had to replace the spiders in my John Deere, I couldn't believe what a PITA it was to get the thing outta there, the entire tractor is built around the trans axle,,,, :(

Thanks for the offer but I already fixed it. It was a piece of cake.
The Transaxle did cost me about $300 bucks but for as bad as I beat the poor thing with plowing during the winter (hammer down) and cutting down sage brush in the summer, I expected it to break sooner or later. :D

Yeah, I love toys but sometime when you have too many, you can spend all your time just working on them and have no time to play with them.
Hey! why don't we hijack this post and turn it into
    Who has the most TOYS?
I'll start (and yes, trucks and cars count, OK?)
    I have the following,
    87 K5 Blazer
    76 Scout
    98 Mountaineer (wifes)
    80 E-350 4x4 van (not really a toy)
    81 E-350 4x4 van (not really a toy)
    2- 89 E-350 4x4 vans (not really a toy)
    96 E-350 4x4 van (not really a toy)
03 3/4T AWD GMC Savana van (not really a toy)
    2 place snowmobile trailer
    4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer
    81 Yamaha Enticer
    92 Yamaha Excitier long track
    98 Yamaha SRX Mountain
    Pool Table

Soon to get a boat I hope.

Well, that's it. I'm sure someone can beat that pretty easy.

    Good Grief,

I can't compete with that. I've sold off most of my junk to fund a few projects.

    77 Truck mods in progress
A rare optioned 70 Plymouth Sport Satellite
    1944 Enfield Long Branch MK4 .303
    Trek Mtn Bike

Most of my toys are gone now. I used to have a YZ490 that I miss, that was a fun bike.
