i really totally have nooooooo idea who to vote for at all anymore, watching the news makes it even worse of a problem for me, i just dont know who is good and who can be trusted and believeable, no idea..

and it doesnt seem like it matters what aprty you are, i dont favor any party, i dont even think that candidates or elected officials act like/within the party they are, at least anymore.. if ever in the past, i think its just who they are/personality, period.

does anyone really know who they are going to vote for ? and im not talking about just for Pres.

its impossible to know what each candidate for any office is truly liek and what they truly are going to do and how they really are going to perform and so forth.

i try to learn about a candidate or two and then bam a report or something comes on and it makes you turn all around and feel the opposite way about that certain candidate

dont know what to believe or who to go with,

i think its all a big mess and alot needs changed with how these processes run.

    i dunno

    It's very easy. Do research.

Read newspapers, they usually keep tab on your local reps and what they are doing. Of course most of them cover the national game, but you need to take what they say with a grain of salt since they slant most everything they write.

Go to websites. What are your interests? Some groups will endorse candidates, but you have to be careful here cause most groups ( CALIFORNIA LEAGUE OF OFF ROAD VOTERS) are so narrow minded in their approach, that they've endorsed some commie rat bastards.

Look at the candidates' website. You can usually find what the mucky mucker stands for there...................

The people that only depend on one newspaper and Dan Rather to make their decision for them should pack the bags, jump on the boat and debark in Havana.............

Same problem here, I guess its time to do some research, someone needs to put together a comparables site listing issues and needs/wants to list, along with checklist of past references and what other positions they have held and if they kept their word/campain issues during that time. Also a little background on school, hobbies and that sort of thing /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

    It's simple.

If you want someone who flops more on issues than a fish on dry land, vote for the liberal Yankee rat bastard.

If you want someone who will provide steady leadership, while standing up to a bunch of cheep [darn], AK-47 shooting, suicide bombing dumbfawks out for Allah, then that man is already moved in. So there, it will also save some tax dollars too by keeping Bush in office, no one will move............

When I find a canidate that follows the Constitution instead of tearing it to shreds, that's who I'm voting for.

Patriot Act? Just an underhanded way of tearing the constitution to shreds and throwing away our rights. Sorry, but the thought of a cop arresting me and detaining me indefinetly without giving me a reason is just plain f*cked!

Assault Weapons Ban? What a load of Bull-Sh*t! So my AK-47 has a pistol grip, bayonette, and an extended magazine. Can a pistol still kill a person as much as it? Yes! Can it be concealed? No! So why are they banned when almost all crimes are done with pistols? I say there should be stiffer penalties on illegal gun usage and less penalties on us who use our guns in safe, lawful, and sporting ways.

And I still don't know WHY THE F*CK WE ARE AT WAR! I'm loosing friends for what? These WMD's that haven't existed in 10yrs! Has Iraq gotten any more stable since we caught Saddam? NO!

Sorry, I just needed to rant. I don't mean to offend anyone, but the people running this country are a bunch of two-faced A-holes that stay on top by screwing us over!

    I'm just tired of it.

    Listen jackass...

This war isn't about weapons of mass destruction. It's about TERRORISM.

In the 1991 cease fire he agreed to allow inspections and kept kicking the inspectors out.

IF he had WMD, he destroyed it before we could get to it so as*holes like you would say exactly what you just said and question our country's reason for fighing a seemingly now unpopular war.

But since you're obviously ignorant, my only suggestion is that you grow up and face the facts.

Is it possible for you NOT to be so abrasive? Try answering with a lot more facts and whole lot less name calling/flaming. I get your point, but the main focus/point of what your trying to say gets lost in translation man.

I agree w/ you we are at war on Terrorism, but if that is the case, why are we not in other areas that are KNOWN for harboring terrorists? I also can see the point about losing friends for what "appears" to be a futile effort. Sure, we can whoop some serious @ss and catch a few of the bad guys, but the fact remains, thet we will NEVER catch them all and they WILL always be making us look over our shoulders. We can put a dent in it, but it'll be a small one at that.

Open yer mind a little to other people's points of view and try not being so dang angry all the time dood.

I haven't taken a tone like that at the keyboard in a long time.

I take serious offense to the fact that my unit is over there, and someone making a comment like that makes me very pissed off.

My buddies are over there, guys I've trained with, known for years, and they left their wives, their newborn and unborn kids, etc. so jackasses like him can have freedom, and I'll be damned if I'm going to watch someone disrespect them on the home front.

Being an injured soldier, staying home, and watching your buddies go to war is hard enough, but watching someone disrespect them like that is very irritating.

...reason why I don't come to the lounge that often: people for some reason forget that people have different politcal views and get way too worked up over it, geeze, so much for civalized society...

Anyways, I don't see where he was dissrespecting the soldiers. I protested going to war, but does that i mean I don't thank the soldier that is told to go voer there and possibly die for me? no. You should understand that it is at least OK (if not a good/great thing) that we are allowed to disagree with our government. And saying that someone is disrespecting specific soldiers because they don't agree with a governmental decision? well that's what I would call ignorant.

Trying to imply that the work that they've done there, and the tremendous sacrifice that they've made for the rest of you is disrespectful. You don't have to come out and trash the troops directly, just bash the action that they're involved in and you've already gone too far, as if to say that what they've done hasn't benefitted us and thus their effort/work/sacrifices are worthless.

If you think along those lines, I hope to God someone puts you in your place, because that's not a political view.

I definitely don't think it's unpatriotic to protest the government. If you read what I post about, I think it's run by a bunch of socialist bastards, but that doesn't put me on the attack of the war or the warriors, only the POLITICIANS.

The war itself shouldn't be political. Address your irritation at your government leaders instead of the people that are dead/dying/fighting for you or WMD or whether or not we got Saddam Hussain or not.

Address your problems by getting off your ass and voting when the time comes. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You need to remember that there is freedom of speech in this country and just because someone has a differing view than you doesn't warrant some of the comments you made.

Furthermore, there's more than a few of us that have friends over there........ /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I never said that I didn't think that he was entitled to his opinion, but it still makes me sick to read such comments.

I'll fight to the death for anyone's right to their opinion, whether I agree with it or not.
