Talking about being worn out. I'm way out of shape, and this chit is too much, but oh well, if it's gotta be done, it will be done.

Yeah, just hang in there , Paul. 12 hour days kick my as for the first two to three weeks, then my body becomes used to it. The part that really sucks is only having 8 hours a day for yourself, and you have to sleep. Are they always going to be 12 hour shifts. If so, bummer. If not, then there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there.

If nothing else, you will be in much better shape after a couple of months.

busy time for the pickle industry also, I started putting in around 10.5 - 11 hrs a night now. and it'll be 6 nights a week :doah: . on top of that, I'll have 4 yards to cut every week..... for free.

hang in there man, it'll get easier after awhile.

i hear ya brother. I've been working 5:45am-3:30pm... and I have a 1-hour-each-way commute thanks to a long bus ride. Been working 6 days a week for the last 4-5 weeks too. doh! bigger paychecks will help pay for tube, so I guess I shouldn't complain! ;)

12 hour days arent nothing, normal day for uss when the weather is dry. sucks when it rains though cause then we cant pave and that means no money. the first week or so sucks but then you get in the swing of things and the summer just flies by and the bank account is fatter then you last remembered.

I say, if you can't handle the 12 hours days, then go ahead and quit,,,,i don't mind paying your bills..

I personally work anywhere from 9-15 hour days, yeah, sometimes it sucks, but it's something you have to do (work) and those paychecks usually end up being pretty nice too.

"8"-"16" hour days... makes no difference to me. Those are just 'regular duty hours'... not counting the wake-up, get to work early (1/2 hour to 45 minutes) for roll call and turnover, stay late to do paperwork and clean up....

God forbid someone loose a tool. Yeah, and all my work is outside, too :)
