    I can\'t take it anymore

So I just got my 14ff today and already I can't take it. I still have a bunch of stuff to purchase before I can do the swap. I was so antzy to work on it I pulled the diff cover to take a peak.

So here is what I think I need.

    1. Plate Spring anchor
    2. U-bolts with nuts and lock washers
    3. 8 lug 15 inch wheels
    4. Conversion u-joint to mate 1310 to 1350
    5. Move driver side shock mount to the rear of the axle
    6. Loc-tite
    7. Maybe put new shoes on it, need to pull the drums to
    look at them first.

    Anything else I am missing?

I just hope my 10 bolt will hold up till I can get everything. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Gilbert huh, what cross roads? I grew up at Lindsey and University in Mesa. For now I do not want to spend much on wheels. Since I will just buy new ones when I get the front end converted.

Here is my kicker though, I have to do three major cash items all at the same time. Changing the front end, I will go to 16" wheels, I need to lift it at that time since I have to buy new tires. I need to buy the correct tires for the lift. Those tires will not fit if I don't lift. Oh how the plot thickens /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You might want to consider a disk brake swap. Well worth the effort.

Disks would be good, how ever mama, I mean my accountant, has me on a very strick budget. So the disks will have to wait a while.

when you pull the drum watch out its about 70 pounds or so.also did you get it out of a JY or from somewhere else.when i got mine everything in the brake system was rusted so bad i had to chasnge to disks to have any brakes at all.i think it would cost as much to get all new drum parts as it did to change to disks.

Not total sure what the axle came out of. I just called up a buddy and said this is what I need. I think he said it was under a 72 Blazer.

The perches are original and in the orginal place. The driver side shock mount has been moved to the front of the axle and in toward the center some. The Passenger side shock mount has not been touched.
