Well, almost. All the big stuff is done & I now have a room free of children's toys. I started this three years ago when my wife and I were getting ready to have our second child. We knew we would be loosing our computer room and decided it was time to finish the last room in our house-what used to be the one car attached garage.

When we bought the house in '99 the P/O had removed the garage door and replaced it with a full view door & twin side lights. He didn't bother patching in the siding, but I had it done before I moved in. He also hung 4 can lights and added several switches that controlled nothing. We used the room for storage and taking off muddy shoes.

Fast fwd to 2003. Wife says, "We (which, of course, means me) need to get this room done." I got most of it done, including laying 5.5'x14' of ceramic tile at the entrance and building a wall to make a 4'x14' storage closet. This allowed the two old uses to continue. The back 2 can lights sort of straddled the wall to light the room and closet, with most of the light coming from the front two. I also sheet-rocked & painted the room, except for one small wall, and had carpet installed. We moved in the computer desk and an old sleeper sofa and called it good.

On occasion I would get, "When are you going to finish the wall/trim/lighting/electrical/celling/room?" FF to '06.

Over the past month or so I started finishing it. First I painted the ceiling, duct work, wiring, pipes, etc flat black. I moved the back two can lights into the room & put a 4' fluorescent fixture, that used to be in my kitchen, up after I painted the outside of it black as well. I installed another 4' fixture in the closet. After finishing up the rest of the electrical I closed up the remaining wall and finished painting. Then I hung crown molding and trimmed out the window & doors. I still need to pick up 2 long pieces of baseboard molding and install them, then the construction will be done.

    More later with pictures.

OK, some from before everything was cleaned up:

My wife and I painted the mirror, it was from an old dresser we sold at a yard sale years ago. It is the logo from our favorite wine. The room is not big enough for a proper back bar so I painted this shelf to match.

My wife took the Tio Pepe picture in Madrid. The beer fridge is next to the computer desk. The rest of the liquor and wine are behind the bar, along with the glasses, towels, etc. My wife & I recovered the love seat.

Better pics later. Rest of the stuff on the walls, my chair, bar stools, etc.

I love my bar and building it is the best investment I've ever made. Here are some pics.

Very nice, that lighting is awsome.

If I drank more beer I would definatly do the "on tap" deal.

If I had a full bar like that I'd just feel obligated to drink it....all....at once...:haha: The only liquor I can keep in stock is gin for my wife, I can't drink it or I go crazy, I'm alergic or something same thing with my sister, four or five drinks of gin and we're both ready to to kill and puke... toobad too because I'd love a gin and tonic every once in awhile.:o

Hey ARAMP, mind if i ask you if you have a cost break down of that bar?? it's kind of exactly what me and my roommates are looking into next year. if you cant, then how about just the beer-tap system.??. thanks a lot..

I got most of my stuff from beveragefactory.com. There are a few other beer sites out there, but this one was pretty much the cheapest for everything. I got the 15 ft^3 freezer from lowes for around $200 and the countertop at Lowes for around $35. I think I spent a total of about $600 for the whole thing. I'd basically check out the website and compare your budget to what you want and go from there. Good Luck! You'll be the envy of all your friends. :)
