Years ago when I bought my Craftsman tool set, I noticed it came with a 5.5mm socket. I was like ""what the hell is this for? Nobody would ever need this!"" So I just pushed it aside and have never used it. Well, today I was replacing light bulbs in the instrument cluster. (pain in the arse) Everything was going smoothly, until I tried to remove the plastic sheild from the instrument cluster itself. I could not find a standerd socket that would fit it; 5mm was too small; and 6mm was too large. After scratching my head in deep contemplation, I rememebered that I have a 5.5mm lying around. So I tried it out, and what do ya know, it fit perfect. Wohoo! [IMG]

Well, just thought I'd pass it along. Anybody know what else 5.5's are used for?

I bet you could shoot it pretty far out of a slingshot. Maybe use it as a shim if your bolt is too long? I dunno.

Shouldn't it be called uncommon sense?
