So, the chow hall here sucks. Half the time I can't even finish the food on my plate it's so bad. I discovered this past week something they manage to do really well: corn dogs. I'm addicted to those fockers now. Something about a steaming hot, hot dog wrapped in corn bread... mmmmmmm.

That is all. Have at ye post fixers!

Corn dogs (and junk food in general) are a nice side effect when you have kids. I had not had one in a long time until my kids asked for them.

That's cause they are pre-made. All the chow hall has to do is heat them up. Even an E-1 can turn an oven on!!!!

You should try Navy galley food:crazy: When we go to an Air Force base everybody is always eating at the chow hall. 10x better food.

I seriously doubt it can get any worse than these focktards here manage to do it. Burnt meat, undercooked rice, you name it.

I hope noone from services reads this. I was pretty harshly corrected when I was at Kunsan and I called it a chow hall. This SSgt got mad and said "IT'S AN AEROSPACE DINING FACILITY" Me and my buddies laughed and told him it was a chow hall when we came in and that's what it will always be. :histerical:

Yeah, when they start serving good food, I'll stop calling it a chow hall.

Well, we both know that will never happen. Over 11 years in now and the best one I've ever ate at was at Kunsan. But then again we didn't have much choice over there since it was free and they took away my BAS.

Some of us would throw in some money every now and then and cook a nice meal in the dorm kitchen or cook out if it was nice. It was a welcome break from the chow hall and food court. We would go down to A-Town a couple times a month to get bul-go-gi too. :eek1:

I know when I was at Osan, the food was so bad that my lunch would normally consist of 4 pieces of bread, 4 mayo packets, 6 slices of tomato, and some lettuce. Made me some good ol fashioed tomato sandwiches cause their grub was awful. :(

Al Dahfra had a pretty good chow hall, open 24 hours (for sammiches, salads, etc) and hot food served 4 times (breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight). Every monday at lunch was mongolian bbq. That was sooo good. You had to get in line 30 minutes before the chow hall opened to get some. Dahfra also had a decent flightline kitchen. We had this one cook from New York while I was there, he hooked us up with two 4" pans of.... SHRIMP. Stank up the truck something fierce, but damn that was good.

Best thing ever is chili-mac. Corn dogs are bad for you.

You want bad food? Be a Marine on an amphib.

Come on, I love the Navy, but "decent"? We ate MRE's sometimes just so we didn't have to go to the galley. Finally got to the Chiefs mess, after expecting so much from my last float, well, we ate like the troops did. They even made chitlins one day. Imagine CHT, cooked.

Some of it does in fact look and taste like it was just scooped out of the CHT system
