actually it was given to me by an elderly uncle. not to sound ungreatful but oh man this thing sucks! rides like a freakin buckboard and the 31s rub! it overheats at every slowdown in traffic. i really dont understand what ford people see in this 351 all any of my 350s are can eat this thing for lunch. and you gotta love thsews anit lock brakes that lock at every stopsign. and bad handling..... id like to drag whoever invented ttb out into the street and beat him. so now ive got a blazer a jeep a Z71 a buick and a bronco. i even like teh buick better than this turd. i was thinking about chaining one end to the jeep (383 stroker sm420 dana300 dana 60/44) and the other to the blazer and trying to pul it in 1/2. i could sell tickets or something. ok maybe ill jsut sell it.

friends romans countrymen, lend me some parts

A yes, the beauty of Twin Traction Beam. What could be better than continously varying wheel camber with normal suspension travel? Or how about needing to install a camber kit after 4 years just because the springs sagged 1/8"? And then you've got to align the thing. The question is, at which single position do I want it to be aligned correctly at, because as soon as you move the steering or the wheels travel, the toe and camber change. I swear this junk was invented by tire companies who were tired of people getting over 20,000 miles on street tires.

I guess ya'll dont like broncos too much......[IMG] I'm kinda surprised it rides bad, all the Bronocs I've ridden in or driven handle a lot better than my Blazer. Must be a real piece...

Yeah, I agree with 90k5, my Bronco II with 206,000 miles rides a lot better than my Jimmy with 118,000 miles (and a lot slower too, maybe that's the problem). The tire thing is a pain though, either you rotate the tires regularly or you give it up altogether. Also, as far as the TTB goes, I'd rather have that kind of IFS over the SLA kind for off-roading. Easier to lift, rides better and costs lots less. Just my opinion, after all I was looking for a Bronco when I bought my Jimmy (still wonder if I did the right thing, have to know my Jimmy to understand).

84 Bronco II 204,000 miles and counting...........that's 206,000 and counting now

ok im not a big advocate of fords,BUT,the IFS that GM had/has is a total POS!at least the TTB is a d44 center section.ive seen TTB take a beating and a 1/2 and keep goin.then ive seen the IFS of GM lose a wheel cuz the hub wouldnt take the 38s.the same truck lost both front wheels at different times, and 1 side twice.so IMO if were talkin IFS vs. TTB,gotta go w/ the TTB.sorry!but straight axle truck vs. staight axle truck, im a GM fanatic![IMG]

If I could afford it, my Beast would be getting TTB. There's plenty of race trucks that use it, I would too. If you really don't want it, send it my way. Does it the 9 inch rearend? If it does, pack it up the whole package and send it my way.

i have to agree w/ pureinsanity, the dana 44f (ttb) is way better than chevys ifs but in comparison to a live axle they both suck. any true 4x4 enthusiast will agree w/me when i say "brand loyalty is bullshit" i like my '90 k5 a hell of a lot , 35's, strong, looks kick ass, full conver't(in a few days) reliable as a toy, 15mpg, and ramps 1100. what more could i ask for? all the truck companies have made really good stuff and really bad stuff. i just think as a majority of good parts its chevy, but i have to admit there arn't very many trucks on the road as cool as a fully restored, lifted and locked 66-77 bronco. just my .02
