Been car shopping for my daughter. She hates rice (smart girl /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif) The only small cars she likes are VWs
    So I Bought my daughter a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8 T
Dammmmn that thing is fast. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
It is the frist 4 banger I have driven in a long time that is fun to drive.
Its cool to have a 4 banger slam you back in your seat going thru the gears like a V8 does.
It aint as fast thru the 1/4 as my Mustang. But 0-60 I am sure it will hold is own against any stock or mild built V8.......Course I could always do a BPU on it and get around 300 hp out of it.
    V-tec beware. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Im still trying to figure out how the Hitler-inspired Nazi-mobile has evolved into what is widely considered a "cute, girly" car... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Is it a manual or an automatic? The 0-60 are as follows:
    Manual 7.7 secs.
    Auto 8.9 secs.

My ex-girlfriend had a VR6, and I agree, those things feel quick. Nice drive. Really good on the highway.

My brother bought a GTI Golf. Apparently, it moves. My brother in law is driving it while My bro is in boot camp, and he says he's going to go back to his taurus soon. He cruises the highway to work feeling normal and not pushing it, next thing he knows, the speedo's sitting at 90...

Yeah my butt dyno said 7 second car. Feels like it does the 1/4 in low 15s
Its a 5 speed manual, leather, sun roof, Monsoon sound, I bought it in Salt Lake City and drove it 240 miles home. Set the cruise on 80 never shifted out of 5th. When I was driving it back. Some fool in a Peon tryed to race me up a steep mountain range. I let him get way out in front till the hill got steep and he started slowing down. There was no traffic. I rolled on the throttle took it up to 100 and passed him like a plie of horse turds in the road.
Never understood why Jettas are Girly cars. Even the NAd 2.0s run better than a Honda Civic.
I guess its better to drive a Honda with your hat on backwards and look cool. Than it is to acually drive a fast car.
Maby girls are smarter than boys.
The thing that bugs me about her Jetta is I am finding myself asking my daughter to borrow the car keys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For the 4/6cly econo box cars, I like the Chevy Beretta. Too bad the last year for them was 96. It was either the Beretta or Cavalier. Personally if I was Chevy, I would have kept the Beretta and sh_t canned the Cavalier.
