Nothins broke I just Like preventative Maintenance.. After all "breakage from abuse is cool, breakage from neglect is not"
When I am at an Idle (in gear) my transfer case shifter just kinda wobbles a little in the cab... When I take off it torques over to the side and then comes back to straight... or clse to it... IS this a sign of mounts on the tranny, transfer case or engine mounts goin gout??? I wanna know which I need to buy and replace...
Any idea on how difficult this is???
    Thanks!!!

Um... yes officer I know it's too big...

The 4X shifter will move a little but if it's doing it alot I'd suspect the mounts.Try the motor mounts first, they'll probably cause the most movement if they're bad. They're not that hard to change.
Just put a block of wood(like a 2x6x14 to distribute the weight evenly) on a floor jack under the oil pan.Loosen the bolts but don't remove them yet.Lift it enough to take the pressure off of the bolts so they'll come out, remove the mounts, replace with new ones and reverse the rest of the process.Make sure to tighten the bolts etc. after all the weight is back on the mounts.

To check the motor mounts I would open the hood, get in and power-brake it in gear and peek thru the gap under the hood and see if your motor is doing a lot of moving up on the driver's side. Usually, if ya got one broken it will put the fan and radiator shroud in contact. The others are easy enough to check using a decent size pry-bar and an eyeball.

My 79 did the same thing till I recently put in the urethane Off Road Design Transfer case mounts...........no movement at all anymore. Also has helped the infamous clunk at takeoff from a stop sign. My original mounts were squishy oil soaked rubber............yuk. Now its' like someone tightened up the whole truck. $45 and worth every penny...........
