    Hey folks,

I just wanted to let you know Im back home...And I want to thank you all for all the kind words that you posted while I was over seas....My blazer still runs like a top....And its soooo good to be home with my family....What ever you do dont take them or anything here in the U.S.A. for granted....I say that every time I leave...Anyway, thanks again for the support and say your prayers for the troops that are still over there.....
I do have a technical question...Has anyone converted over from an electronic speedo to a cable...is it possible to do with a 700R4.....My speedo is shot and a new electronic stock one cost about 300 bucks and I cant find one at any of the wrecking yards...I would like to use my stock instrument bezel if possible to convert to a cable speedo....let me know of any Ideas...thanks

    Tom

Welcome back Tom ! Glad yur safe.

My 89 has a cable driven spedo. Maby an 89 spedo and cable will fit yours they both look the same. The cable hooks Up into the x-fer case. Does your x-fer case have a hookup for the cable ?

    welcome back--

what birds do you work on?? i used to be a loader on B1's and f-16's.

B1's were (and still are) my favorite.

as far as your ? goes, i have an 89, and like what was already said, you may be able to swap one on.

Welcome back home! My brother is in the Air Force as well. He is in Security Forces. He used to be stationed in Saudi so I know what it's like to have a loved one in another country at one point in time. I'm glad that there are still people in the United States that are willing to put themselves in the ring to protect the USA. Thanks!

Welcome back guy! Thanks for your good work.
I think 90 was the first year for the 241 case (the speedo drives off the case not the tranny). Steve might have a speedo for sale. I know he's changing cases and I don't recall if he's going to modify the new case to run a tone ring or go to a mechanical Speedo. I plan to in the future replace my Speedo with a electronic VDO or Autometer. Those are easily calibrated for tire size and I'm sreiously thinking of ditching the stock dash for a Pre runner style. If you can figure out how to get it over to a mechanical drive or possibly the VDO can use the sensor for the stock unit you have it would be about $150 for them. There have been a few people that did some awson conversions to better gages and retained the stock bezel with some trimming.
