    I placed an ad on local message boards that I'm looking for a wrecked 1 ton chevy 4x4 truck. Tonight I got an email from someone with one. I've gotta go check it out, annd if the price isn't to high, I might have just found my axles. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif I emailed the guy with my phone number, I'm waiting for the call so I can go check it out. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

    Okay, here is what the guy has. NP-205, 3/4 ton Dana 44 with 373's, 14 Bolt FF with 373's, a second 14 Bolt FF under a trailer made from an old ambulance (Gears unknown) Whole lot including trailer for $500.00. I really wanted a Dana 60, But I think I can deal with this stuff for the asking price. I'll probley keep the NP-205, One of the 14 Bolt FF's and see if I can swap the other 14 Bolt FF and trailer for a Dana 60. So does that sound like a good deal for $500.00 ???????????????

    Don't know yet, I'll go check all out this weekend. The guy works till late. I belive he said it came out of a 79 3/4 ton truck. Story behind it is his cousin got killed out wheeling (being stupid as he says it) He's a furd fan, but ended up with the remains of this Chevy. He sold the motor, stripped the rest of the good parts, and junked the rest of the truck. Has a trailer made from a ambulance, (Thats where the other 14 Bolt FF is in) So NP-205, and 3/4 ton axles (Dana 44, and 14 Bolt FF) with 373 gears. 44 had new breaks and rotors less then a week befor guy got killed. But everything for $500.00 doesn't sound too high of a price does it ??? Remember, that includes a home made trailer (Lights don't work).

    14FF=150$ + 14FF=150$ + D44=200$ =500$ plus your geting a NP205=200$ and a trailer sounds good to me!!

    Around here salvage yards want $450.00 for a 14 bolt FF, and $600.00 for a NP-205.

    Wow!!! That is outrageous I got 2 14FF's for 100$ and I can get a np205 for 200$ if I look around. That makes your find even better if they want that much in your area.

    Yeah, the salvage yards want outragous prices for any 4 wheel drive parts around here. Don't know if being on the edge of the Black Hills nation forest with approx. 1000 miles of trails has annything to do with it or not.

    You should also check the papers in those little podunk farm towns to the south of you (Hot Springs, Edgemont, Oelrichs, etc) A buddy of mine that lives close to these towns picked up a couple NV4500's and a D60 front for 250 bucks from a guy that 'just wanted it out of his shed'. Wish my podunk farm town had some stuff like dat.

    There is an old closed down Army base just south east of Edgemonnt (The Igloo's) So I'm sure the area is full of surplus military trucks. Think I'll go check the area out here in the near future. Might just have to go hunting for parts.

    My dad lives in Edgemont, and I have checked that place out, and it is cleaned out. Not a damn thing left save for a couple decrepit buildings. Does Ellsworth AFB have surplus auctions?
