Ok well Im going to the junkyard tomorrow to get some axles for a buddies jeep. I also want to pick up an electric fan for the K5. What kind of vehicle should I pull it out of? Ive heard the Taurus have good fans but that has the best?

Ford Windstar. The shroud almost works perfectly and it is two fans instead of one. Thats what I have on mine and it was a breez to install.

I run the Winstar setup on my 71 ElCamino. Works well and fits the large radiator real well with minor trimming. (theres a pic of the fans on my Elcamino link towards the bottom) I have another set in the garage to convert my blazer in the next couple months. The Mark-VIII is another BIG fan. It pulls over 5000CFM but it Loud when its on.

ford taurus fans are awsome. you want the 2 speed one it came on the 3.8 liter v6's, it has 3 wires going to it.

if you use a taurus fan make sure you pick up a 3 wire fan. it is 2 speed instead of just one like the 2 wires.

Come on now, dont put that ford junk in your truck. I got one from an old cavalier and it kept my burban cool at 160 on the dunes on a 90 degree day.

I ran a single IROC fan on my K5 406TPI motor..........ran off a temp probe pushed through the radiator with relay. Kept it cool no matter what condition. Keep it GM........... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
