Check your frame for cracks aruond the bolt holes. Mine did the same and the frame was just starting to crack. Installed Stering brace no more probs.

Your problem sounds similar to what I had... Mine was making a poping noise when I would turn from side to side..
so I had a friend turn the wheel while I was watching and it turned out that my leaf spring was loose... I tightened it up and away the noise went.... good luck

I had my bro turn the wheel so I could look to see where the noise is coming from. It's coming from the box. I check the fluid level in the steering pump and it's O.K. It's not the springs, and there is no cracks on the frame that I can see.. hmmmmm anything else?

These guys are right on track. Check for cracks, leaf springs or even loose bolts on the gear box.

Hey Aaron, did your steering seem like you were out of fluid but you were'nt? The wheels only turn if you let the truck move a little first? I was thinking my pump was dead, but you say it was the steering box itself?
