I was looking into a 6" skyjacker lift to fit thirty-five inch tires on an 86 K5. What oddball part would I be ordering extra? The kit description showed the shims for realigning the driveshaft but what about steering components, brake lines, etcetera? Electrical issues with harnesses? Two shops responded so far to do it. I want to make sure nothing is left out like recallibrating the speedo.

A 6" suspension lift won't need to have anything done to the wiring, shifters, or steering shaft - those are all things you would have to worry about with a body lift.
Yes, you should run extended brake lines. ProComp and SkyJacker both sell brake lines for between $80 and $100.
Rear driveshaft WILL need to be lengthened. Front driveshaft MAY need to be lengthened, and really OUGHT to be if isn't required.
Recalibrating speedo - you got me there, I wish my speedo would just work and then I'd worry about it reading right.

Thanks, I just heard from a shop to get her done. I asked for the skyjacker in the email. I'll look up the brake lines and driveshaft. Links off this site I hope.

There's a gear in the transfer case that runs the speedo.

Front driveshaft MAY need to be lengthened

[/ QUOTE ] When I installed my 6" lift (Superlift front springs) my front driveshaft was too short to hook up. I was able to drive to the driveshaft shop on the rear shaft, but I took it very easy, one good bump would have popped it apart.

I chose a 4" susp. & 2" body I run 14-35-15 gumbos with no problems.
