$hitty day....$hitty day. It wasn't a very big accident, but an accident nonetheless. Long story short, while driving to work this morning, I didn't stop fast enough (1.5-2 sec. following distance, 20mph top speed, 5mph at impact) behind an '05 SuperCrew. This was east-bound I-66 between Rt. 50 and 123 this morning, about 5:50am, if any of you locals heard about a fender-bender there. It wasn't for lack of paying attention, mind you. I was thinking about a lane change to get over from the middle lane for the my upcoming offramp, looked at the pass. side mirror, then glanced over the right shoulder to check the blind spot, and turned back. In that quick amount of time, SuperCrew hit his brakes for upcoming traffic, then I did the same, nose-dived the '94, and hit his rear bumper milliseconds prior to me coming to a complete stop. Guy behind me was able to swerve to avoid me - he used the break in traffic I was aiming for. It was only of those, "If only that first guy had stopped two more feet ahead" type deals, I wouldn't have hit him. Very polite VDOT worker came out, followed by a friendly trooper who was at the end of his midnight shift. No police report was filed, only an exchange of information. I'm upset. Now I've got to get my truck back to 'sexy truck' status....

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think I bent my bumper brackets at all. I think all I will need to get back to normal will be an identical bumper, and another front piece (don't know what it's called) to paint-to-match, and reinstall.

sorry man. i got a nice smotthy bumper non chrome you could paint match to the truck for a bit of custom at the same time and loose the plate holder. you pay shipping its yours i am not going to use it . looks like bumper / brackets/grill headlight unit and possible little stuff. easy for a guy like you tho.

you got the brackets. the bumper is tiped down in the back over stock position. i did the same kind of bump one time. it tweeked them just like you trust me.

best part 18mm socket if i recall correctly for junk yard hunting for all the bumper bolts.

and its the grill you need to ask for with composit style beam quad lights i think.

few snap conectors for body moulding under grill and 7mm to get all the grill screws out.

Similar bumper-only dent. (And, it was a SuperCrew, the F-150 crewcab that looks like someone put a blue oval on a shoe box and sold it to the public.) Like I said, I doubt my velocity was any greater than 5mph at the time of impact, IF that.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm weary about body stuff.

    hahahaha!! Sucks, 'cause it's true.

I am deathly in love with my truck. I can't stand the thought of it not being 100%. I will get it all fixed, just have to spend my time collecting parts, and arranging for work.

Ouch that sucks! If you need brakets, let me know. I think I have a set. But not 100% sure, might have been scrapped.

nows your chance to shine up the front. I hit a deer and ended up with a new billet grill. check out www.stylinconcepts.com for your grill assembly. they have bumpers too. nothing stock but the stock peices cost more new then the aftermarket.

    Working on becoming an ace?

Just thought of somthing. Pilots get to paint the mini enemy flags of the folks who they have shot down as a way of indicating kills. If they split the kill with another pilot they get half a flag. Does this mean big94 can paint at least 1/2 a ford insignia on the side of his rig?
