So there is a TH350 and a 350c.i. Also there is a TH400 and a 400c.i. Just wondering, from the factory was the TH350 supposed to be behind the 350c.i.? And the same for the 400's? Is that what the designation means? If so where did the 700R4 come from?

Had nothing to do with the engine size. There is the 250 and 200 as well.

Probably just Turbo-Hydramatics numering scheme. TH400's were out a bit before a true 400 IIRC.
