passed my icar certification (steel and aluminum) last night...
it wasnt hard except that they really made us hustle
8 welds,, vertical and overhead,, including prep and setup
    20 minutes...
5 of us took it,, 2 passed... first time offered by my school....
400 bucks out in the open market.. school offered it free other than the actual certification

you car will now not fall apart if I weld on it

    that is all

    fumes being nice????...
are you Ill fumes...??? have you been eating veggies,,,

are you getting MELLOW as you age?

As I took this test Im thinking theres no way bodyshops are going to send their employees to school for certs at 400 a pop...
during training we were instructed that most new cars only 20 percent of the welds would pass destructive testing... and the remaining 80 percent are for overkill... while I doubt the auto manufacturers would spend one dime on anything they didnt have to... and that automated machines arent better than what humans do it certaining made me look at some of the body welds on my new truck... the ones covered in seam sealer!!!

toolbox shipping... hmmmm... now depending on how big that toolbox might be that could be a problem...

I know mine needs a cozad with a jeep... and the biggest oshkosh made to pull it.. you know.. the one that pulls buildings and stuff

but then again... I dont have the biggest toolbox on here.... do I? :-)

    ok enough joking...
for little jobs Ill still tig them... it takes awhile to put the python mig gun on the powermig and then respool with aluminum.. I only do it if I have long beads or major fill to do...
