what is the blue thing in this pucture on the bottom of the diff? it looks like a pretty good idea to protect with out being an anchor... anyway just wondering if it had a specific name and if they were being manufactured.

Diff Guard. Don't know if that is the exact name, but when I went to 4wpw and asked for a diff. guard, that's what he had. $80 a piece /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif for 10 bolts from 4wpw /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hmmm, that looks like a shot of Shawn's truck. He just removed and sold those diff guards and replaced them with some mongo diff covers from Missouri Offroad. I don't know what their website is, but perhaps someone else will post it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

No, Shawn has the diff guard from Ron's, same one I have, and it has a full ring - instead of bolting to just the bottom 4 or 5 bolts, it has a ruing all the way around and all the diff cover bolts go through it.

That looks like the stuff they sell at 4wpw. I forget the name of the manufacturer.

If you're interested check out Ron at his web site.

80.00 sounds right if the tubbing is solid, if not though I have seen them for 65.00 at local 4x4 shops /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yes, that WAS my diff guard some time ago with my *bling bling* chrome cover. It was made by 4xDoctor (which is similar to the models 4WPW sells) but I pulled it off and sold it for Rons model which has the extra supports and is made of solid bars which you can see here: http://www.off-road.com/chevy/tech/axlemods

I recently went to MOO diff guards and sold Rons.
Here's a pic of MOO covers similar to mine:

if thats what you want, order one from Rons Custom. He has a www page, google it. Great product, great price, great guy. His guards ring goes all the way around the diff cover too... not just on the bottom... like this...
