I wasn't an actual witness when it occured, but yesterday at my "part-time" job at a local radiator shop, a car rounded the corner at the intersection, and the front passenger door swung open and the baby seat with the child in it fell out and hit the curb. The shop owner called an ambulance as another guy there ran out to try and help. Luckily, as far as we knew last, the baby was ok, just very shaken up and crying, when a fire truck and paramedics arrived. Appearantly the mother had: 1. Had the baby in the FRONT seat of the car. 2. Didn't have the baby seat even in a seat belt. 3. Didn't even latch the door all the way shut. Hopefully the child will be ok... but my friend is positive that the mother is going to have some big fines and be in some big trouble.
