Think I am gonna throw a new coil in my 89 tomorrow. Don't want to spend a lot of money..just an upgrade. What do you guys run...what do you suggest? Thanks.

Also any other simple upgrades to ignition that can be done for a resonable price? Sorry I know nothing about ignition upgrades.. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Thanks again

I have the jacobs milage master with a unlite distributor but if you have a standard HEI the accel coil is a good general upgrade I think but dont know if it works with your computer sry /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Unless your coil is bad, or you are turning RPM's that are way beyond what most turn on the street, you aren't going to be "upgrading" anything by replacing a part that is working correctly.

BTW, the post title says "(opinions)" and thats what this is.

I have always been happy with MSD stuff. A few friends of mine have ran Jacobs stuff, but with problems. My MSD ignition has never let me down....

If your spark plug wires are old or worn out, some quality aftermarket wires can help.
