The coyotes have just started something and I'm going to finish it. I was able to get the dogs out and the shot gun loaded and got the coyote to drop my goat but couldn't get a shot off. So now her death won't be in vein, she will serve as bait. I was more than willing to lose/share a few chickens and there are more than enough rabbits, mice, rats and birds around, but trying to drag off a 40lb. goat at 1:30 in the afternoon with me, two dobermans and two adult goats standing not more than 40 yrds. away. That just ****ing crossed the line. It's on, I staked her out and set snares. Anyone have any other ideas,I think it's just one peticular coyote we keep seeing and it's brazen to say the least...:angry1:

I would and am almost to that point but I refuse to use poison,I wouldn't be able to track down the bodies and then it would just continue poisoning other animals, I wasn't happy about making snares either. But I think If I made them right it should be coyotes only and I'll check them every day..

That's why we got a couple of Queensland Healers. They are excellent at keepin watch over the "herd". Did the trick for us when we had the rescue farm.

I had a real hard time deciding not to cock the hammer today and it cost me, two houses and one of my dobeys to my left about 15" and I was fairly sure I didn't have the reach on the coyote, he is one slippery little ****er, I got a shot at the same one a few months ago from about 25 yrds while he was taking a dump no less and the boy handed me the shot instead of the slug...:doah:

I bought a call and these things have nothing to do with them around here, what calls them in around here is cat/chicken/duck/garbage man. call, their citified the rabbit call wouldn't even work and they hunt whenever, I'm thinkin 1:30 in the afternoon is a little late to be up for a yote,Momma musta been working the day shift.
