Well guys I'm back. A few of you noticed that I disapeard for a while. For those of ya that care, I kind of went into lurk mode around here because I was loosing patience with some of the self congradulatory, I'm better then you are, blah blah blah posts. But its cool, everyone has the right to post whatever they want, if I dont like it I can reply and let you know or change the channel so to speak. I'm not bringing this up to bitch about the posts or people, just to explain my absence. As most of you know I pretty much say whats on my mind and, well, sometimes that can get on others nerves, so I decided to just shut up for a while. Also I have all sorts of stuff goin on up at the shop, we have had this TA that has just eatin up loads of my life, but its gone, WAHOO!!!
Whats new with me, lets see, I builte a new rear bumper, side bars/sliders. I (spray)painted the K5 flat black. I also got the cage halfway installed. So my rig has taken on sort of a MAD MAX look. Which is the direction I always had in mind. I got to meet a couple of my fellow CK5 coherts, Big B and White Knight. Very cool couple of guys. I was lucky enough to get to wheel with WK at Benbrook. It was fun to watch him go, and boy does he go!!!![IMG] Anyways, there ya have it, see yall later. HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!! and MERRY XMAS!!

Hey, Welcome back! I've been wondering where you've been. Your paint looked pretty good in the pics, why do you want to get a rattle can job? Anyway, the K5 sounds great and sure would want to see some new pics. When you do the sray painting, take some pics if you can cause I plan to spray paint my new K5 (gonna buy one pretty soon I hope) I have never done it so pics and info would bee help full.
CU around and MERRY XMAS to you too.

    DBLAZER-

Maybe I should feel stupid even asking, but - what is the purpose of the uprights on your bumber? Is that for protection of the quarters?

    Later,

Well I should have pics up of the new paint job pretty soon. I already did it chevy. The reason I went with the rattle cans is because I hit things. I run trails that I'm not "supposed" to fit in so I know that it is gonna get scratched. I have already repainted it once!!! After the trip to Poteau, Oklahoma it really needed it. It is very easy to repair, shake the can, spray it on. Also, I have always had a look that I was going for with my rig. It was a Mad Max meets Batman thing!!!!. As for the rear bumper, yes the uprights are ther to protect the quarters, which they have succsefully done already!! The uprights are also the startin point for the EXOSKELOTON that is in the works. Anyways, Ill see yall later. HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

I'm toying with the idea of spaying my K5 - but I have a Wagner Power Painter. What kind of paint would you recommend? I take it you taped the hell outa your rig beforehand - how long did that take? I noticed on your site that you run "topless" - I'd want to keep my top on and paint it as well. What kind of prep work would be involved with that? I'm just trying to get some ideas and as much info as I can before I get any deeper into this "idea". I know I need to replace my rockers first. How hard is that? (Already have LMC catalog). Right rear quarter needs replacing, too. Is this a one man job? Thanks for any thoughts, comments, advice, etc.
