I dunno... liberals tend to get all caught up in the symantics of everything, as if that was more important that what is actually happening... and I always try to avoid doing dumb liberal crap. ;)

If you treat a gun like the deadly weapon that it is... it don't matter what you call it. On the other hand, you can use the proper (according to who?) wording all day, but if you don't treat it like the deadly weapon that it is, you might blow your own head off. As usual, actions are worth eleventy billion times what words are.

Well....I also agree gun safety is an important issue. But just because a guy refers to getting a new "toy" doesn't mean he thinks guns are meant to be misused. It's the same deal if someone says, "I got a new toy" and it's a convertible 'vette. You can drive that real fast, misjudge a curve, and roll it on your head. :D

I call my 4X and snowmobiles toys. Maybe I shouldn't because they could cause personal harm. Maybe I should call them my "heavily-modified-truck-with-off-road-capabilities-in-which-all-four-tires-drive" and my "havily-modified-snow-traversing-and-vertical-hill-climbing-apparatus"...... Ah fk it, they are toys just like anything else that I don't NEED but enjoy having for recreational use and enjoyment, hmmm, such as my guns.
Also, we used to call our paintball guns "markers" just cause the name "gun" has attracked a label by mostly (IMO) tree hugging grannola folk to puts a bad rep on guns. Alot of people here in Wyo use guns for a very sugnificant source of food and fighting off indian attacks.

how is anything I said out of line?

that makes 3 of us! :thumb:

... now I'm really confused. lol!!!!! Kool aid would rock, but I can't eat Brats anymore... to much sodium. doh! Maybe if the wife wasn't lookin' though... :)

ahhhhhh the lounge, gotta wub it!

ps: I re-read my other response in this thread... and it sorta sounds like I am suggesting fumes is a lib... clearly this isn't the case and that wasn't what I meant. At any rate, the 2nd paragraph is the key one... the first was just a prelude to the actions > words thought I had....

I thought we all were supposed to be taught gun control by our parents . At least in the America I was raised in .

I know where Fumes is coming from , I want to have my own family someday , and not just our borrowed nieces and nephews .

I also see that the "toy" guy meant a man toy , not literally a toy .

I also see that as a public forum a kid may read this and think its a "toy" . Which brings us back to the parents . Its the parents who ultimately dictate how their offspring react when they find themselves alone with a loaded gun <------- Read that last sentence .

    Parents teach your kids !!

im gonna hear some shat about this but...

i was never taught anything about guns in my family... almost all military family, and they were almost taboo in the household.. F that, my kids will know what they are, what they can do, and how to properly handle one, when necessary or warranted... that said, it is a man toy, not a play toy...
