If you have read the "I miss posting pics..." post, you know there is a discussion going on right now about this site becoming a pay site, if it's worth it, and how much people would pay. If you haven't read that post, please do so first so you get all the information before making your vote.

This is unofficial and was not created or requested by Steve, but I thought we should do this to help him make a decision. Please be honest and truthful as this could become a major milestone for this site.

If this site were to become a pay subscription site, how much would you be willing to pay ON AN ANNUAL BASIS for all the functionality and content most of us have come to rely on?

20 bucks would be alright if we all could have the opinion of as many people that are on this site now. Another concern to me would be is that a fee would scare away new people with valuable opinions away. but i guess thats were that paying for the beef comes in to play

I'd pay whatever he charged as long as he threw in one of those nifty round decals as an incentive. Seriously though, I'd do it without the decal.

Let's keep the votes comin'. We have 38 views but only 15 votes at this time. Does nobody seem to care much about the well-being of our caretaker and the on-going value of this site? C'mon K5ers!

Keep in mind if I did go to a pay site I would add functionality, like I could bring back the picture upload so you wouldn't have to put pics on other sites to view them here. I could remove the ad banners, I could pay for tech articles, etc..

Still not sure, but one thing I do know is that I need revenue to keep up with traffic and to further grow the site.

I think a pay site is the way to go. Is it possible to offer a free thirty day trial membership for new users. This way we might not turn away potential new users.

Thats what I was saying in that last thread. Give 2 weeks free, then make it so you have to pay. I don't see why 30 bucks a year would be to much. Like I said earlier, that is less that $.09 a day. NINE CENTS, thats not too bad.

I'm really disappointed in the fact that this important question has had over 110 views but only 39 votes have been cast. I am disappointed by the input being provided so far. The same people that don't vote are probably the same ones that will complain if a subscription fee is implemented. Here is your chance to make a difference.

I voted and would pay even more than the top level posted. Worth every penny..........easily.

Hey, to get more views/posts how about changing the title to show the entire subject - like "IMPORTANT POLL!! How much would you pay to keep this site alive and improve it?"

    Just a suggestion.

I would pay a yearly fee. I usually just do a lot of reading but if the tech articles were added on a regular basis and the options were back. I would definately use this more than the other boards on other sites. How about adding the truck and blazer message boards together. Way more of you guys than us and the company would be nice.[IMG] j/k

I don't know that I would use the pic posting much but I would not mind paying to keep this sight going.

Quick question. Although I am willing to pay for the site, no problems, if this does become a pay site, will non-members still be able to read, just not post, or will people have to pay after a trial period to read or post?
    Just wondering.

    uh-oh
