This was an e-mail I had gotten thought Id share.

This Really works. Tried it on my girlfriends Prelude last night. Just hold the Key fob close to the phone and hold the unlock button. Have the other person stand close to the car and be silent. I couldn't believe it. If I held the Key fob away from the phone it wouldn't work. Primerk5..

Subject: Fw: IMPORTANT TRICK - LOCKED KEYS IN

This is very interesting!!!!!---and great to know!!
    Subject: Locked keys in car?
Important Information that could be useful some day!
Locked your keys in your car ???? Did you know this??
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone on your (or someone else's) cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
other person at your home press the unlock button of your key fob (clicker), holding it near the phone on their end. Your car doors will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object you could be hundreds of miles away, and if
you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk!).
Editor's Note * It works fine! We tried it out, and it unlocked our
    car over a cell phone!)
Mike's Note * I locked the car had my youngest daughter call me
while I was far away from the car. I clicked open into the phone and I could hear the car doors unlock through her cell phone. My daughter confirmed that sure enough the doors opened.
Pass this one on to your friends

    Sorry, but HIGHLY unlikely.

I just had this fight with my girlfriend.

Key Fobs work on RF signals (IIRC)

Phones use a microphone to translate pulses in the air (Sound) into a signal that is broadcast to another phone which translates them back into pulses of air with its speaker....

So, there is no way to transmit RF signals with phones in the manner suggseted (that I know of.....)

I'll gladly stand corrected if someone can tell me how this could work.

Can't certain signal piggy back on other signals. Maybe its not going through the phone but through the connection. If that makes any sence.

Good Greif. I don't freakin know. I'm to the point I wish I hadn't brought it up .:doah: Tonight I am going to call her mom and have her mom press her extra Key Fob to the car and see if it unlocks it or not. They live about 5 miles away .

being that sound is a mechanical wave, and rf signal is an electromagnetic wave, i dont quite see how those would "piggyback"

its because your avitar looks EXACTLY like the one I have in a magazine stacked by the crapper.... I think it had 4.10's and 4.56's, RIght? My subscription ran out a while back to peterson's so I just keep re reading the old ones when I take a dump :doah:

Ya those are the gears in it. I was given a 14 bolt with 4.56's in it and put it in and never got the gears for the front. A friend of mine is supposed to trade me a set of gears for the front for a set of 4.10s that I have. Maybe I'll get them some day.
