whats your favorite year for the blazer? i personally like the 1975's to the 1978's.
77 of course.......and i do not own one.......yeah right
I like 87 becuase to me it's the best year for that front clip. THe 700r4 was beefed up and it was the first year for TBI. I like 87 :-)

prolly 79', not just cuz i got one either /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif it was gm's biggest year for producing blazers and i think the most numerous on this site. my .02 cents.
I'm partial to 75 not just cuz I got one, full conv. top, body parts o'plently , and last year before cats /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
was there a difference in the 78 and 79 other than axle options?

I also like the 87. I have a Jimmy and it has tons of options. The parts are pretty easy to come by too.

My vote goes to 78'...... But I have an 87 front clip and top so I have the best of both worlds! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
'73: new body style, full convert, smog exempt.
My favorite: Depends. For a trail rig, I'd go 73, smog exempt, full convertable, won't mind dinging it. For a daily-driver combo, a 91. Fuel-injection, overdrive, nice amenities, and still easily accepts 3/4 or one ton axles if you want.
i love my 89 but if my sub /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif were a 91 it would have a 4L80 (th400 with OD) but i like the grilles on the 73s where the yellow light is not in the grille, it kinda sits there on its own. but i think the 89-91s look the best. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

I like the '73-'75,because of the full convertible top,and then the '76-'78,because of no smog crap!!I always could swap to a newer front clip and fuel injection,BUT the emissions would always have to stay on the later models!This is an easy one,I could swap all the luxery options unto an early model.But once a truck has cats,air pump,and all the other crap,it all has to stay to be legal.Noe only if GM offered 3/4 or 1 ton K/5's with an BB454 motor!That's what swapping is all about,though!!
i have to say that 89 gets my vote. It has a good 700r4 in it, the grill rocks, it has tbi and a serpintine belt, it also has a speedo cable that went away from 90 on. and mines paid for /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
1978, of course. i like the 76-80 body style best. it just looks tougher to me. Of course, all K5s are great! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
actually, 1977 was the last year for rigs without cats.
I would want a 1973. Smog Exempt, anything will work on it up till 1991, big wheel wells, full convertible. add a FI 454 the motor is updated.
