From what they're saying on the radio, he was doing a bike stunt and standing up on the seat when it started to wobble and he couldn't regain control. He seemed to be one of the last unpretensious people on all these shows about bike builders and he was a master of fab. He will be missed.

Hate to say but it was just a matter of time. Every show I ever saw him in he would do that, pretty soon the odds catch up with you when you do stuff like that.
I do give the guy all the credit in the world he had more talent in his pinky than most people have in their whole body. Plus he lived by his own rules. RIP.

    IMHO...

He probably would not have wanted to go any other way.... He died doin' what he loved... so I guess it could have been worse. He was an artist.

i know people who are in their senior years and have never "lived". This guy truly lived because
    he did what he loved.

congrats to a life well lived.

Man thats pretty crazy, At my work here one of our mechanics just died in a bike drag racing event. His bike started to wobble and lost crontol and flipped a bunch of times. He was a really great person and its sad to see people go. I'm happy he died what he loved to do, but he left a daughter behind and now she has no mother or father. RIP to both him and larry all will be missed.

I heard something yesterday and had been wondering if it was true /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I hate to say it, and I don't know all the info on the accident, but I know a lot of these guys don't where helmets and I wonder if that played a role in his death? I know helmets aren't the "biker" way, but if it would have made the difference between living and dying it seems like it would be worth while. On topic, RIP Indian Larry.

Should the blood run cold in my veins,
Just one favor I'll be asking you,
Don't bury me here it's too cold,
    Take me back,
    Carry me back,
Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from"

    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

CONCORD, N.C. -- A custom motorcycle builder known for his appearances on cable's Discovery Channel died Monday at a hospital of head injuries suffered during a stunt, officials said.

"Indian Larry" fell off a motorcycle Saturday while performing before 8,000 people at an arena outside Charlotte. He was not wearing a helmet, the officials said.

Indian Larry was standing on the moving bike when it began to wobble and went out of control, said Mike Downs, Cabarrus County deputy manager. His full name was not immediately known.
